Hello everyone!

Sorry for not notifying you all again, our P-Day is again on Wednesday because of a Temple Day! I love going to the temple, and the spirit of peace and love that I can feel there. To anyone and everyone that have the opportunity to attend the temple, I encourage it. It is truly a special place, and the House of the Lord. This week was so awesome, we've seen miracles on miracles in WanDa, and the Lord keeps blessing us. Last night, we called a man who had been referred to us by a member in TaiZhong. We had heard he had a question about the church, and so we asked him what questions he had. In reply, he said, "Oh, I don't really have any questions, I just want to join your church. Do you have any activities I can come to?" After taking a moment to recover, we told him he could come to church, and we'd love to talk about joining the church! It was super awesome!
Crazy Experience of the Week! We got sung to in the park by an older guy who actually speaks pretty OK English! We talked to him a little bit, because he wanted to talk to missionaries. He said he had met missionaries before, and so he wanted to talk to us! It didn't end up really going anywhere, but at the end we asked why he was at the park, and he told us he was here to relax, and to sing. Then he asked us if he wanted to hear him sing, and we were like, "Uh... OK." He stood up, and started singing a traditional Chinese song. It was actually pretty good! We took a picture with him, so I can always remember Peter Liu.

We also had a super awesome lesson last night, with a man named Brother Chen. He had met Elder Kimmel (my old companion), at an activity, and so we set up to meet with him! We gave him a tour of the chapel, and shared about Jesus Christ and His love for us. At one point, he shared that he's been feeling a hole in his heart, and he sometimes felt alone, and depressed. I was so grateful for the opportunity I had to bear personal testimony of Christ, and His Atonement. I know Christ suffered for us, and no matter what problems or pains we have, He can help us overcome them. Through His sacrifice, and through the perfect love and mercy of Christ, we can find joy, even in our pains. We will still have trials, and hard times, but through Christ and His sacrifice, we can find peace, and have hope for a better tomorrow. I know God lives, He loves us, and He hears us. I believe in the power of prayer, of personal communication with a loving Father in Heaven. I know God has heard my prayers, and has answered them. And I know He will answers yours, too.

I love you all, sorry for the long email! I love hearing about fun experiences on the homefront, too! Keep on keeping on!

Love,
Elder Shope
